AMENITIES AND OPTIONS SPICE UP THE RV EXPERIENCE

Recreation vehicles have tripped the hot button with the American consumer as more and more travelers are choosing RVs as the ideal way to hit the open road.

As the industry grows, manufacturers and suppliers are keeping pace by building vehicles with the desired comforts to meet the changing needs of today’s marketplace. Multiple floor plans and a wide range of vehicle styles and sizes give the consumer plenty of options.

Manufacturers tempt the traditional ground camper with popular camping trailer models, then provide economical stepping stones as RVers can move into travel trailers and fifth wheels on up to fully equipped motorhomes.
Fold-downs offer far more than just basic living

quarters with convenience packages that include cooking and dining areas along with versatile floor plans.
The hybrid travel trailer, such as the Kiwi™ from Jayco, Inc., has the best of both worlds, offering the security and comfort of a hard-wall travel trailer with the enjoyment of outdoor camping provided by two pullout tented bunks.
Amenities and technical innovations such as slideout room extensions, satellite television, washers and dryers, convection ovens and computer hookups are readily available. RVers can select from various optional features to customize their vehicles and create their own "home on the road."

The Designer® Legacy fifth wheel by Jayco typifies the luxury-laden package in today’s high-end vehicles. Jayco’s premier towable offers residential style features like maple cabinetry, solid surface countertops and surround sound entertainment centers.

"In order to make the RVs true ‘traveling lodges,’ we’ve added certain amenities and conveniences to fit the needs and wants of the RV consumer," said Bill Prinz, Jayco Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Some RVers just want the basics. However, there’s an entire market of full-time RVers who want all of the modern conveniences of home. These extra amenities give them that comfort zone."

Upscale amenity packages offered in Class A motorhomes rival residential surroundings, including sophisticated electronics that cater to today’s high-tech traveler. Navigation systems, computer work areas and sophisticated control boards are commonplace. Motorhomes also emphasize refined luxury with items like glass-enclosed showers and leather recliners.
